Ray, a former member of the United States navy, was a devoted and loving family man. Whenever he was asked "How are you doing", he would always respond with a wide smile and his trademark "Oh great". Ray was a native Vermonter who loved to spend summers with his family at his camp in Colchester. He graduated from Bentley College and worked as an accountant for GE and IBM for many years. He married Maureen Hoose Miles in 1965. He lived in Colchester and Winooski, raising 6 children. He eventually became a snow bird before moving permanently to Florida with Maureen. Ray's passions included a love for watching the Red Sox along with petting the family dogs. Both brought out his inner child.
