Aldee Elias Boucher, 85, of Winooski VT passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Birchwood Nursing Home.
Aldee was born to Aurelien and Jennie (Pratt) Boucher on October 25, 1932 in Winooski, VT. He attended school in Winooski and joined the US Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was honorably discharged.
Aldee married his high school sweetheart, Joanne Goodreau, on January 29, 1955. She pre-deceased him in 2010.
Aldee is survived by his 3 children: Wayne (Cindy) Boucher, Sandra (Allen) McGrath, and Julie (Tom) Sawyer. 7 grandchildren: Erin (Rob), Heather (Todd), Kelly (Paul), Darrell (Marcie), Michael (Crystal), TJ (Brigid), and Jordan. 6.5 great-grandchildren: Dustin, Cadence, James, Brayden, Daniel, Hayley and Brady due in August.
He is also survived by a brother Guy Boucher, sister-in-laws: Beatrice Boucher and Eileen Boucher and brother-in-laws Paul O'Connor, Will Goodreau and many nieces/nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents, sisters: Rita, Jeannette, and Theresa, and brothers: Roger, Adrien, and Joseph.
Al was a long time employee of Canteen Vending Co (he was based at IBM) and he retired in 1997.
Al loved fishing, camping (spending many summers at Lone Pine Campsite), cooking and spending many weekends enjoying his favorite hobbies. For many years, Aldee was the Secretary to the Vermont chapter of the American Junior Bowling Association and a certified bowling coach. He spend many weekends traveling the state with his children to bowling tournaments. Al was the team manager of Little People's Men's Softball team for many years.
Aldee enjoyed being a grandparent and supporting his grandchildren and their endeavors.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph's Assisted Living and Birchwood Nursing Home for the compassionate care give their father.
There will be no visiting hours. A Mass will be held at St. Stephen's Catholic church in Winooski on Friday, May 11 at 10am, with burial to follow at the St. Francis Xavier cemetery.
