On June 28, 2018 our beloved sister and aunt passed away following a brief illness. Aline was surrounded by family and friends throughout her illness and at her passing. If you knew Aline, then you know she was all about family and friends. Not having children of her own, she quickly became the Aunt to hang out with. Aline recognized each niece and nephew as an individual and loved spending time with them in many ways. Aline was always looking for an adventure and what better way to be adventurous then with your nieces and nephews. They all fondly remember their mini trips to just about anywhere; she taught a few of them how to ski, organized camping adventures, and during the February school breaks invited all the younger nieces and nephews for a weekend at Howard Johnsons for pizza, snacks, pool time and lots of shenanigans. All of these moments were captured in priceless photos. Being the scrapbook guru, she created individual photo albums for her nieces and nephews – something that is deeply cherished by all. Aline also enjoyed adult time and took many cross-country adventures with her sister Janet and her husband Ted. Aline enjoyed her extended family as well attending the Gamelin Family reunion for over 30 years! Christmas Eve was another of Aline’s specialties, taking great pride in hosting the holiday for over 40 years. As important as family was to Aline, her large circle of friends was just as important. She certainly knew how to have a good time and enjoyed their company. We will not attempt to name all of her friends (you know who you are) for fear of missing someone’s name, but please know Aline loved and appreciated each and every one of you.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of McClure 3 ICU and Baird 6 for their unwavering care and gentle kindness during Aline’s brief stay at the hospital.
She is survived by her brother Roger Gamelin, sister Jackie White (husband Butch), several nieces & nephews, and many grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Eugene and Anita Gamelin, her brother Richard Gamelin, her sister Janet & her husband Ted Duncan, and sister-in-law Diane Gamelin. Per Aline’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, 3 Saint Peter St., Winooski, VT on Thursday, July 5th at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an organization of your choosing in memory of Aline.
