Obituary for Yvonne Clorida Viens (Barber)

YVONNE CLORIDA VIENS WINOOSKI - Yvonne Clorida (Barber) Viens, 86, a longtime resident of Winooski, died peacefully at her son's home in Georgia, Vt., on Friday, July 18, 2014. Yvonne was born in Winooski, the daughter of Eugene and Clorida (Granger) Barber, and was educated in Winooski. She was married April 10, 1948, to Clayton Viens, who predeceased her in 2000. Yvonne was employed for many years at the American Woolen Mill, Forest Hills Factory Outlet, and the University of Vermont, from where she retired. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Yvonne is survived by three sons, Douglas Viens and wife, Ann, of Georgia, Vt., Gary Viens and wife, April, of Chesapeake, Va., and Donald Viens and wife, Barbara, of Delray Beach, Fla.; one sister, Theresa Viger of Claremont, N.H.; one sister-in-law, Eleonore Lagor of Suncook, N.H.; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Laurie Coutu, Carol Baker, Amanda Ribelin, Gary Viens, Corveil Avengs, Michelle Hodgson, and Nichole Foster; greatgrandchildren, Courtney Moore, Shelby Coutu, Ashley Coutu, Nicholas Root, Damian Baker, Trinity Winders, Kanyon Viens, Evan and Emma Hodgson, and Sosuke Foster; and great-greatgrandchild, Ivory Moore. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 25, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church in Winooski. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Arrangements are with the LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St. in Winooski. Online condolences can be shared with the family at www.lavignefuneral home.com.
