The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.
I had the honor and pleasure of being John's law partner for ten years in the 80 and early 90s. John was an excellent attorney and a meticulous person, whose work was always impeccable. He was a pleasure to practice with and his sense of humor kept us laughing through good times and bad. It is no surprise that he was able to withstand the health difficulties he experienced in the last decade with humor and good grace, never complaining and always offering a funny line to lighten the mood. After I became probate judge in 1995, whenever John appeared in court he always made a point of leaping from his chair when I entered the courtroom and giving me a full salute, giving everyone in the courtroom a good laugh before settling down to business. His strength and humor will be missed by everyone who knew him. The world is a bit dimmer today without our Johnny.
This Book of Memories brings those affected by loss together by encouraging communication and self-expression. By giving friends and family a special place to tell their stories and express their feelings of loss, it helps them care for one another during a very difficult time.
