Obituary for Lauretta Mae Baker (Beaupre)

Lauretta Mae Baker (Beaupre)
Lauretta Mae (Beaupre) Baker joined her daughter Theresa in heaven

in the early hours of July 28, 2018 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 4, 1944 to the late Howard and Loretta Beaupre of Milton. Right after high school, she became a medical secretary and continued that work until she retired in 2011. She was the loving wife of Bernard Baker and the love of his life for almost 50 years, and the best mom and nana a person could ever hope for. The loss of Theresa was a terrible one, but she bravely continued on for her family. In 2007 her first and only grandson was born and he was the apple of her eye! She loved being Nana! Taking care of little Trevor, playing games, doing puzzles, playing on the ipad, and just being with him. She loved the simple, quiet times with Bernie; having dinner, watching tv together, going for rides and just being together. In her years as a secretary she met many people and touched many lives in a good way. She went through a lot in her life, but remained strong until the end. She wasn't here long enough but her time here was well spent. She will be missed by so many.

She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years Bernard, her daughter Lynn and her husband Trevor Conant, her grandson Little Trevor, her sisters Sandra Williams, Nancy and Charlie Littlefield, Patricia and Paul Kirby, Mary Boutin, and her brother Howard and his wife Flora Beaupre, many nieces and nephews, and many good friends and neighbors. Other than her daughter Theresa, she is predeceased by her parents, her sister Norma Packard and several nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors and nurses at the University of Vermont Medical Center for taking such good care of her. And we would like to thank the wonderful staff of the VNA Respite House in Colchester. They took such good care of her and us in her short stay and made her comfortable and safe until the last.

There will be a visitation at Lavigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Winooski Thursday, August 2 from 10 am, until the time of service at 11 am, with burial to following immediately at Lakeview Cemetery in Burlington. Memorial donations in Lauretta's name can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The VNA Respite House, or the Diabetes Association. Condolences may be made online at Lauretta will always be remembered with much love: she was a good person.
