Marlene “Zelda May” Viele, 81, of Colchester VT passed away unexpectedly but comfortably at University of Vermont Medical Center on Friday December 20th, 2019. Marlene was born in New Jersey on August 25th, 1938 and grew up in Vermont.
Predeceased by her Sister, Sylvia Jean (Viele) Larmay in 1997 and Grand-Daughter, Erica Jean Smith in 2011.
Marlene was an inspiring woman who enjoyed every aspect of life. There are many words that could describe the kind of person she was but words alone are not enough. She had the courage to try new things like four wheeling and the drive to keep traditions alive. Camping, Fishing, the beach, Family gatherings, Spending time with Friends. There was never a moment when she was in a room were someone was not laughing. Marlene was a spitfire with sass and spunk but also had grace and warmth. She always spoke her mind no matter how untraditional it was. Many memories and a heck of a lot of joking around. She is an unforgettable woman who every time you think of will make you smile.
Her Spirit is carried on by her daughter Stacey Smith and Husband Wendell Smith, 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, family, extended family and friends from every walk of life.
“Special Thanks to The Dillon’s whom she considered her second family.”
